I haven’t done anything with this site in such a long time. The last blog enty i had posted was two kids ago and that boyfriend i was talking about, is now my husband! lol.
So to catch up in a short summary, I have a beautiful daughter named Kiana Mae, who is 5yrs old. She was born on May 2, 2005. She was suppose to be a cinco de mayo baby but ended up being breached about a week before due date. So I ended up having a C-section with her. Thankfully, my husband who was still in the Navy was stationed overseas and was able to make it in time for her birth. Since then, she has become my over dramatic, super smart, funny, delightful, girly girl. She ofcourse is 5 but swears and acts like she is 12yrs old!!!
Also since my las Blog, my then boyfriend Rey has become my husband. We got married in Yakima, Washington, his hometown on April 22, 2006. All in all, it was a bit of a disaster but we, thanks to my family, we were able to pull it together, and make it the best we could. We’re married and still together, so that is all that really matters when it’s all said in done! (Though i have to admit…it really took me a LONG time to get over how things really went).
Then we left Miami, and off to Naples, Italy we went! Everything was great at first when we first got there. Then as time went on, Naples overbearing Trash problems, mafia problems, and Kiana’s asthma problems made us more and more anxious to come back to the states. Don’t get me wrong, if you are single, married with no kids, it’s got to be the best place to be! Food is awesome, soooo much to see and a great hub to go to all the other countries! while we were there we were able to go to Tunisia, London, Germany, Florence, Pisa, Bari, and I even took my daughter to DISNEY PARIS!!! My only complaint was, why put a Naval Base in the arm pit of the country!!!! My command that I worked for over there sucked, my husband on the other hand had a wonderful job and worked for wonderful people. All in all, I met some AWESOME friends there that i still keep in touch with and visit. Oh and to save the BEST for last about Italy… MY SON LUCAS MATEO was born in Italy! He was born on January 6th, 2009. See the hospital on base is a “community” hospital, they didn’t have a NICU or enough blood at hand for me if there were by chance something go wrong, so if I wanted to have a natural vaginal birth, i would have had to fly to Germany’s base, or come back to the states. They wouldn’t pay for my husband or daughter or our moms to come, so it would’ve been very complicated to figure out who’s flying into where and when all at the last minute, so i just stuck with the having another C-section so everyone could be there. The planned date for my son was to be January 19th, (my dad’s bday) but as you can read, he ended up coming out on the 6th. I had a placental abruption. See with my daughter, i never had any contractions or anything. So when i had my first contraction with my son…it was wierd! I loved it, i know those of you moms that went through the whole thing, think i’m crazy…. but for me, it was something new and alive! So i got to experience some contractions with my son. Everything went well with my son. I even breastfed him until he was 14 months!!!! (only did 8mos with Kiana) So then our time was up in Italy. Time to move on to my next duty station… where to go??!! I really really really wanted to go to San Diego, California! I even offered to take a Carrier (no one really wants to go to those ships) out of there. Nope, my only choices were Norfolk, Va or Ft. Meade, Md… So i took something different and here I am in Maryland!
So, we got to Maryland… it’s alot different than I remembered. Everything is soo expensive and it’s alot harder than we thought for my husband to find a job. He still hasn’t found one. He even is on Leave without Pay so he can keep his government status paygrade and have priority placement.. Still nothing. See, when we were in Italy, I got paid more due to Cost of Living and being overseas you generally get more money to compensate. So being here, I personally have taken a at least $2,000.00/mos pay cut. Not to mention my rent is only about $400-$500 less. But still, that $2000.00 makes a big difference! Plus, Rey isn’t working. So all in all, we are making ends meet but it’s been a struggle. I think we are finally adjusting. I must say it’s taught me alot. It’s forced me to know the difference between needs and want items…My daughter is being despoiled! lol.. She’s understanding that she can’t get everything under the moon that she wants. So that is cool. I’m all about coupons now! I spend more quality time with the kids since it’s free! lol..I’ve learned to cook more and make up meals with what we have. It’s great! Not saying I prefer to not have that extra money or a nice buffer but hey, we are all healthy, and have each other and I think that’s all that matters. Love goes along way. My kids know how much we love them. AND….Did I mention, I have a new nephew??!!!! I can’t wait to meet him! His name is Charlie! He is super, super, super cute!!! Hopefully I will get to meet him really soon! These half korean boys are the handsome-ist!!! lol… Can’t wait for Charlie and Lucas to be able to play together! That was one of the reasons why I am glad to be in Maryland! I love you Charlie!!!
And well, that’s all for now. It’s alot!!! wow. I’m gonna see how much I can keep up with this! Now if I can just figure out how to change my weblog settings and add pictures… time to go figure it all out!
